I’ve always dreamt of traveling to this amazing country where you can find a lot of different traditions and cultures, and such a country is Russia!

Russia is rapidly becoming one of the most popular destinations in the world. Since the end of the USSR, Russian traditions buried for decades have returned and made up for the lost time. Although Russia, the largest country globally by physical size, offers numerous other options, most Western visitors to Russia begin in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg. It is a country rich in history and culture and with beautiful places to visit. Here are some of the wonderful places the great nation of Russia has to offer.

1.) Moscow Red Square

A visit to Russia deserves a visit to the Red Square. This is a popular tourist destination in this country. Here you will find the famous St. Basil’s Cathedral and the State Historical Museum, and if that is not enough, you will also see Lenin’s Mausoleum here.

2.) Lenin Mausoleum

Of course, you should always visit the Lenin Mausoleum. In this amazing place, you will see the embalmed body of the great Lenin. But beware, taking photos and using cell phones is not allowed in the mausoleum, and also, you must leave your luggage at the luggage counter of the mausoleum.

3.) The Kremlin

A visit to Russia is never complete without a visit to the Kremlin. Don’t forget to check out the diamond collection here. It will also be a great experience to see a ballet performance in the Conference Center.

4.) Old Arbat Street

If you are looking for souvenirs, Old Arbat street is a must-go-to place. You will see many stores here where you can buy your souvenirs. There are also many restaurants and cafes here if you get hungry while strolling down the old street.

5.) Tretyakov Gallery

This gallery houses mostly Russian artworks. It is also recognized as one of the best museums in the world. The gallery is proud of its collections of paintings created by famous Russian artists.

6.) New Arbat Street

Located within walking distance of Old Arbat Street, this street is more modern and hipper than the old road. This is also where wealthy Russians go to store and eat, as there are expensive stores and expensive restaurants. The nightlife here is also vibrant, so partying in one of the nightclubs is a must.

7.) Tverskaya Street

Considered the fashionable street of Russia, you will also find expensive boutiques here and restaurants and cafes frequented by both locals and foreigners. You will also find expensive hotels and theaters here. This is a fun place if you want to take a stroll through the streets of Russia, as you get to see some beautiful buildings and experience firsthand the busy lives of Russians.

8.) Gorky Park

This is the most famous park in all of Moscow. Here you will enjoy the theme park attractions and take a relaxing walk along the park’s charming pond. In winter, you can see ice sculpting competitions here, as well as people skiing across the frozen pond.

9.) The Hermitage Museum

This is a popular tourist destination located in St. Petersburg and is also the city’s main attraction. If you are an art lover, then this is a place you should visit as it is home to some of the world-famous artists’ paintings – artists like Da Vinci and Rembrandt and Michelangelo and many more. Here, you have the option of taking a guided tour (where you learn more about the history of the artworks and the artists themselves) or not.

10.) Peter and Paul Fortress

If you know the history of the Romanovs, then you will love this place. This is the resting place of the Romanov Tsars. You should also see the church, which is also a tourist attraction.
