Winter is coming soon; get ready now! Downhill skiing remains the primary activity practiced in ski resorts. If you plan to travel to Haute-Savoie next winter, consider visiting the most famous ski resorts in the department. We propose you discover some places to venture into skiing to inspire you.

AVORIAZ 1800

If you are a beginner in winter sports, Avoriaz is at your disposal to initiate you. You don’t need a car on-site, as the resort is 100% pedestrian. It starts to open partially on June 12, 2021 and opens its doors completely from July 3 to August 28, 2021. To practice alpine skiing, the resort has 65 km of slopes from 1800 m to 2466 m with 7 green runs, 27 blue runs, 11 red runs and 6 black runs.

LES GETS

LES GETS ski resort is suitable for all levels, whether you are a beginner or an adventurer. It is the ideal place to venture out whatever the season, especially in winter, thanks to its landscape covered with forests and alpine meadows with permanent sunshine. The resort opens its doors from December 18, 2021 until April 10, 2022. You can enjoy 120 km of alpine slopes from 1172 m to 2020 m, including 5 green slopes, 31 blue slopes, 27 red slopes, and 9 black slopes.

LES CONTAMINES-MONTJOIE

If you want to discover snow in its purest form, go to Les Contamines-Montjoie. As Victor Hugo said, “The pearl of the Alps in a case of glaciers”, this place is a must during your stay in Haute-Savoie. The partial opening is planned on December 18, 2021, until April 17, 2022. COMBLOUX

The resort of COMBLOUX offers a strategic view at an altitude of 1200 m, as it is located right in front of the famous Mont-Blanc. It has 100 km of alpine slopes, including 11 green slopes, 17 blue slopes, 29 red slopes, and 8 black slopes. The resort is closed until further notice, but you can already imagine yourself skiing at Portes du Mont-Blanc.

SAINT GERVAIS MONT-BLANC

Located on the slopes of Mont-Blanc, Saint Gervais Mont-Blanc allows you to get to know the highest peaks in Europe. The resort offers 24 green runs, 36 blue runs, 43 red runs, and 17 black runs. You can have fun and do cultural tourism at the same time.

THE FRENCH ALPINE CLUB LA ROCHE-BONNEVILLE

The president Dominique JAMET announces that the CAF is still closed until further notice for a new season. THOLLON-LES-MEMISES

You can enjoy the panoramic view of Lake Geneva while skiing in Thollon. The resort proposes a “Montagne d’Evian” offer where you will have the opportunity to discover the ski areas of Thollon, Bernex, and Abondance. The ski area will be accessible again at the date defined by the government. Still, the Thollon team is renovating the alpine slopes during its closure, especially under the Parchet chairlift. The blue slope of the Chardons Bleus is also concerned by this renovation so that you can ski directly from the opening in complete safety.
